I have the 3.1 mulit-port.Its leaking water from the bottom of the engine on the passenger side.Is there any water hoses on the bottom or is this the freezer plug???Its not the water pump. The car runs great but runs hot when the water get low.So I have to add water.
Another thing I have thought about is the Manifold gasket have gone bad.If its this how much would this cost for me to get fix???Give your opinions I need alittle help on this one.OH,NO white smoke which is the good thing. Thanks

PS just give me a place to start looking for leaks.

Have you visually seen it coming out of the engine block or is it just leaking on the passanger side. The drain for the heater core is no the passanger side of the vehicle and it is located on the firewall. A leak here looks like it is coming from the engine. Check it out as it may be a fairly easy and inexpensive fix vs repairs to the engine itself. If it is the manifold gaskets keep an eye on the oil as when these gaskets go bad they will cause water to get in the oil and damage the bearings thus ruining the entire engine.

The gasket will be $5-600 at a garage, you can do it yourself for around $50 if you have the time an tools to do the job.

Before jumping to conclusions find out exactly where the leak is coming from. PS it could also be coming from the water pump!!

the VIN-T (91-94) 3.1's did not have the intake gasket issues the newer ones do. I would agree with Lynn that it could be the heater box drain leaking if it's not the water pump. There is nothing on the passenger side that would leak coolant on the ground from the engine other than the water pump or the transfer tube gasket at the front of the motor. Both of these would be easy to see as they are right on top in the front. If the leak looks like it's coming from behind the engine on the passenger side, the heater box drain is much more probable. Do you get a sweet smell or any fogging of the windows on the inside of the car? That would verify a heater core problem.
