Tie Rod End Questionthinmints 04-14-2006, 08:25 PM I have a 96 xj i was wondering if there is a difference with the left and right side tie rods i see some sites that sell them just as, but others like autozone parts america etc... say there is a difference and they seem to cost more for the left side than the right side i can buy a pair of them for $22. lifetime warenty but it doesnt list as left inner or right outer etc...:screwy: Dale Aeppli 04-14-2006, 09:21 PM There is a difference one is a left-hand thread and the other is right hand thread. The threads are made that way so you can adjust the toe-in on your wheels. Tie rod ends are not cheap. Don't buy cheapies MOOG are good you get what you pay for Dale dave92cherokee 04-15-2006, 01:13 AM Another difference between the tie rod ends is the actual size of the threaded end itself. So when replacing a tie rod end check to see which way it tightens and measure the width of the threads as well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
