Feathered Tread and Patch Wear on TreadFhPt 04-14-2006, 02:53 PM I have feathering of the tread on the front tires. I also have patchy wear on them. The feathering could either be from the toe being incorrect or from the pull meantioned in my previous post. The patchy wear, I'm guessing is from either worn out suspension or steering components? The vehical has 168K miles. There is a good deal of play in the steering wheel (about 1/16 to 1/8 of a turn of the wheel before the wheels actually start turning). How hard is it to go through and replace all the bushings on a four wheel drive 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Shop, back in the 99 or 2000, said the steering church was loose. Did he mean the stearing gear assembly or is a chuch a type of connection assembly? Does anyone know what I'd be looking at for price if I took it in to have all the bushings replaced? YtseJam454 04-14-2006, 07:06 PM Did you get you car checked out at Jesus christ Automotive? Because there is no such part on your car. :screwy: I would take it to a competent front end place or have an assistant rock the steering back and forth while you observe the linkage and find the loose component. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
