Just wondering if the 2000's have a pressure relief/ rollover valve on the top of the fuel pump assy like the older ones do. Mine will pressurize up to 10 psi then immediatly drop off to 0. Recently changed the pump, press regulator, filter, and checked the lines for leaks and found nothing. I checked the engine feed line at the filter and had the same results so i know it is from the press reg/filter assy back.

On my 97, the pump is putting out ~42 psi at idle. If you pump puts out only 10 psi and them drops off, you must have a regulator problem. My 97 has the pump in a can (volute) with the inlet at the bottom. The pump outlet goes to a short tube that is connected to the base of the regulator/filter assy. If there was a leak between the pump and regulator, it might give you those symptoms. I would suspect a bad regulator.

I'll just assume you didn't read my reply to your other post entitled-"thing on 2000 GC fuel rail" where you asked the same question.

A. No, there is not a combo pressure relief & roll over valve on the 1999 - 2004 models fuel pump; the newer model fuel system is a complete redesign.
There is a standard pressure relief/roll over valve on the fuel tank.
The regulator that Ron68 refers to on his '97 is a separate entity on your 2000. On '99 - 2004 models the regulator is located on the fuel line, in front of the fuel tank.

B. If you tried to run your Jeep with fuel pressure at 10 psi, the MIL (check engine light) will turn on.

C. If you are troubleshooting fuel pressure problems, save yourself a lot of trouble by doing it properly:

Measure fuel pressure at the fuel rail, next to the engine. Measuring pressure by disconnecting the regulator takes the system out of the loop and may give false results.

1. Attach your gauge at the port in the injector rail.

2. Start and run the engine.

3. Check the pressure. Normal fuel system pressure is 50 psi.

4. Stop the engine. Check that the fuel system pressure does not fall below 25 psi in five minutes.

If the fuel pressure reads 50 psi while running, and does not fall below 25 psi in five minutes after shutdown, there is nothing wrong with the fuel system.
