speaker problem

ok i have an 89 'bird that i'm trying to install a stereo in my t and nothing is working i have the wire colors and everything but its a jbl and i don't want to cut anything if i can help it. the wires going to the amp from the speakers are the same granted but the wires going to the stereo are not, color wise at least and i have no clue which ones are which. any help?

So are you having a problem with speakers or the stereo... I'm a little confused by your subject and actual post, sorry...

First of all, are you positive the stereo works?? If its used you may want to get that checked... Also just to make sure, you hooked up a ford wiring harness to the stereo right???

Yeah if you get the right harness for your car then you should be able to splice in the wires from the harness for the car to the harness for the new stereo. The colors will even be the same and everything. Im not really sure if i am understanding your problem though. I have completely re-done my stereo and have gone through all the steps so if you want any help let me know.

I tried to find you a wiring diagram online, but no luck so far. clarion's website used to have wiring diagrams for tons of cars, but i couldn't find it. look around on there, tho...i doubt they'd get rid of something like that. I'd look further, but i have to go to bed. good luck!

i had similar prob with 90 t-bird, when i hooked the radio up it worked but i only had sound coming out of two speakers and could not fig out why,so i brought it to a shop and they found that since car was old some of the wiring to the speakers had broke down over the years, so they had to replace it , and after that i had a magnificate sound system (pioneeer premier) maybe that will help, if not sorry
