Ok, I have a 95 v8 4.6L and It needs a new tranny, i got a part car off my friend, and the transmission is good, but it's a 94 v8 4.6L. I've looked on the net, and everyone i look to buy rebuild kits or anything, its for 94-95 thunderbird. Any help would be nice, because we already started unbolting the part car last night.

Im not absolutaly 100% sure but as far as I know they changed from the AODE to the 4.... (I dont really know the code for that particular tranny) but as far as I know they made that change in '94 with the introduction of the 4.6L in the T-bird. As long as the shift pattern in P-N-D-2-1 and has a OD shut off switch on the shifter then I do believe that they are the same tranny. I am 98% sure they are the same.

Hi, The trans will bolt up..But you have to be sure if your original trans was an AODE or a 4R70W, Then you can make the switch..If you don't install the same type of trans you will have problems because the processor is programed for the original trans....GOOD LUCK....Clay..
