Red oil from radiatorjuno 04-08-2006, 12:06 AM I was trying to replace my wife’s radiator today. She has an automatic 1995 Jeep grand Cherokee. I started to take all the screws off then I noticed that the radiator had two small metal hoses running into the radiator. I unscrewed one of them and red oil came out of their. Can anyone please tell me what it is, before I cause some damage? Thank you in advance, -J GregA 04-08-2006, 12:23 AM I was trying to replace my wife’s radiator today. There is usually an "embedded" transmission fluid cooler in the radiator. Take Care, juno 04-08-2006, 12:27 AM Transmission Fluid. These lines are expensive, ssunford 06-08-2006, 02:23 AM and use teflon tape on the compression nuts before you thread them back in it'll prevent leaking also use a tubing wrench or "Flare-nut" wrench on them when ever possible the nuts are made of a soft steel or brass and easily round off. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
