I have to replace my lift bolts on my 2zz and I've decided to just replace the entire head with a port\polished head and was wandering what kind of performance gains I can expect combined with the apex-i
power fc and commander, injen cai and a comlete header back exhaust system. Possibly a slight amount of boost(3-5 psi). I'm not plannin on racing the car on the track, but I like to get on it at least once or twice a day lol and I just want some better kick out of it. That and I really dont like the idea of some azzhole in a v8 revvin on me and not being able to shut him\her up.:evillol:

Hey i'm kinda new to all of this and I really wanted to know in your own opinion if it would be stupid to put performance parts on a 92' Celica gt with 188,000 miles on it. I put about $500 to $600 dollars into it and i don't want to see it go to waste. Thanks

what kind of performance parts, intake, exaust, headers, basic stuff like that sure, you can always rebuild. but as far as major upgrades like turbo/sc/nitrous, not without a rebuild.

I'm not sure who makes a kit for that low level of boost, I was plannin on building a basic centrifugal supercharger kit for it and keep th boost as low as possible. I dont wanna lower the compression to run more boost, just keep it low so I dont destroy the engine.I'm hopin for about 190- 200 whp if possible from these modifcations.

for the money you will spend on the supercharger youd be better off to go turbo. XS Engineering makes a kit for $5,000 that includes the Apex-i PFC, injectors, fuel pump, all the piping and intercooler. It is the first and best bolt on kit for the celica, as well as it produces the most gains they gaurantee 250+ to the ground and prolly only using 5-6lbs of boost. If you supercharge it without doing internals you will be dissappointed in the minor power gain. As for the head MonkeyWrenchRacing.com sells them in stages. but without forced induction putting a new head on the car would bring minimal gains I'd say 5-15hp. Lift bolts are like $20 and really easy to install, why would you wanna replace the whole head? You dont have to take the head off to put in lift bolts.Just wondering.

I would stay FAR away from the XS turbo kit. Their customer service next to none and their exhaust manifolds are famous for cracking. Go with either the C2power turbo kit (www.c2power.com) or the hass kit (www.hassproturbo.com). If you are looking for a supercharger, I would highly recommend the greddy kit.

One other thing its an automatic. i would really like to convert to a manual if possible. im really new to this and i was wondering if you can? Parts: NGK Spark Plug Wires, NGK SPark Plugs, OBX performance muffler, and a Weapon-R Air Intake. For starters. Thanks

i think he meant into a 92 not a 7th gen. in that case 2.5-3k if you do the work yourself and around 5k if a shop does it for you.

i think i will be starting a sercive to swap 3s-gte and 4age (20v) and 4agzes into celicas

No i dont have my ASC scertification
yes i have swapped a 3sgte into a celica
yes i have swapped a 20v 4age into a corolla (from a 4afe, same engine bay as a celica)

im actually planning on swapping a 5th or 6th gen in a little bit and just selling it, no point in keeping it i just want to swap it for the fun (fucking california, cant have a legal swap)

and btw the final cost for the swap was around $2100 for us, buying the front clip makes thing SOOOO much easyer

front clip was $1700 shipped
rebuiltd kit (headgasket etc) was $115
new 5sfe clutch was $250 (i dont count this cuz it was an exedy clutch kit, coulda used the stock)
we used the 5sfe tranny (not so good idea, it broke within 6 months, and is the main reason why he sold the car)
timing belt $50
we broke the map sensor and bought a new one off ebay (mabe it coulda came broken but i think we broke it :) $45
the ignitor and coil were damaged in shipping (this is why we think the map borke in ship, but i know someone dropped it as well) $100

other mics crap that we boght was like another $100

the worst part is that we got the swap done, tried to fire it up and never knew the coil and ignitor were broek so we spent another 2 hours tracing the wiering and finally checked the ignition voltage and we had none so we bought a new initor, that didnt work, bought a new coil, and it fired right up but ran like shit, couldnt figure it out for hella long untill we checked the voltage from the map sensor and it wasnt consistant, so we changed it out and it ran like a dream
