Anyone know the torque spec on a 2005 Tacoma V6?
I've cranked it hard every 2500 miles doing an oil change and found it a feather away from coming loose every time.
I change the gasket every time also. The last time I know I used a 3/4 box wrench to lever it in tight with the socket wrench. Again found it a feather away from coming loose!

The 2004 oil drain plug torque is 27 lb. ft., it should be the same on the 05. You should use the correct size metric socket/wrench for removing and installing.

Thanks but 27 lbs ain't cutting it. Maybe the after market gaskets shrink due to heat. I'm sure putting a 3/4 box wrench as an extender on the ratchet probably cranked it to well over that range. Still, this was like the third time I've found this plug like that. Kinda scary! I'll try some different gaskets.
Appreciate the feed back. Don't wanna blow up my new truck!
