All-trac engine install progressVip09 04-05-2006, 01:22 PM A lot of people have been asking me how the project was going. We are almost ready to drop the engine in. I'm waiting on a timing belt cover and injector insulators and she'll be going in. Here are some pics from tonight. This is how we started today.. engine still on the stand. We've connected most of the hoses.. only thing we have left to do here is get the fuel rail attached. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac38.jpg TURBO CELICA PARKING ONLY.. hehe. Me and andy's turbo celicas. We finally moved the alltrac over to the garage so we could prep the engine bay. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac39.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac40.jpg Here are a couple pics of another project we've been working on while waiting for parts on the alltrac. This is my friend andy's 91 Celica GT. We put a steel head gasket on and supra injectors. We are using the stock manifold/turbo from my alltrac. She purs like a kitten :) An intercooler and piping is on the way for it.. then it'll be ready to drive around. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac43.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac44.jpg Lots of work to be done. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac41.jpg I thought the enormous tire gap was funny with the engine out. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac42.jpg Me in the engine bay.. C'mon, everyone has a pic standing in their engine bay, right? http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac45.jpg The massive transmission + transfer case. It was a pain in the ass to mount to the engine. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac46.jpg Got the engine off the engine stand and on the hoist. Installed my RPS clutch and Fidanza Flywheel. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac47.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac49.jpg After some headaches and bloody knuckles and fingers, we got the engine and tranny mounted together. http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac50.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac51.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac52.jpg And we called it a night after touching up a few things in the engine bay. Installed the hood latch hardware and the horn. It's getting close to that time :) 91 Celica St 04-05-2006, 09:16 PM nice, i need to do an update on what ive been doing as well ;) SigmaProjects 04-06-2006, 02:25 AM awsome, you're a lucky guy to have a garage like that =D I'll have to park my project car behind our company's truck =( celica5071 04-06-2006, 07:00 PM hey man that looks awesome I can't wait to start tearing mine apart this summer just 16 more days til I get my garage space Vip09 04-07-2006, 12:16 PM Last night's accomplishments: http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac53.jpg http://members.aol.com/vipmetal09/alltrac54.jpg tubjub 04-07-2006, 08:49 PM what i would do for an alltrac... nialusa 04-08-2006, 05:29 AM Nice work...engines looking good......what make of exhaust manifold is that? cause the welder should be shot......twice. Vip09 04-08-2006, 02:17 PM Nice work...engines looking good......what make of exhaust manifold is that? cause the welder should be shot......twice. It's a greddy manifold. It cracked and the person that had it before me tried to repair it with his very bad welding skills... it looks like crap but hey if it works it works.. lol vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
