I Have A 2002 E150 With A Six Cylinder. The Egr Code Came Up And I Was Wondering If I Could Also Have A Problem With The Throttle Body Being Plugged Up. I Had The Same Code Come Up On My F150 ( 4.6 ) And I Changed All The Egr Parts And It Didn't Help. I Then Took Off The Throttle Body And It Was Full Of Carbon. Could I Have The Same Problem With The Six Cylinder? If So How Hard Is It To Remove The Throttle Body On The Van?

What code are you getting? If it's a p0401, you're ahead to just replace the dpfe from the get-go. FoMoCo stopped paying us to even run diagnostics on DPFE and EGR flow codes, they just had us put DPFEs on that fixed it over 99% of the time. Sometimes, though you do see throttle bodies clooged up with carbon, but that is generally the exception and not the rule. A good way to test that is to manually open the EGR with a vacuum pump at idle, the vehicle should start running rough and may stall, if it doesn't, then I'd check the throttle body for carbon buildup.
