what would cause there to be no power to the fuel pump? I check the button on the pass side and it was not tripped. so I ran a hot wire to the pump and it ran for 5 min then it died and would not start any more. Is there and resound that you can't just run the pump off a toggle switch or is it pumping to much for the motor? any help will be much aprisheated thanks.

were you checked the swith in the corner-look for two relays, one has a green-and the other has brown base, the green gos to the fuel pump-the brown to the fuel rail...... heres the trick-the green one can be GOOD- but if the brown is bad it will make everything not work.....this is a old nigtmare we want threw are selfs---,if you hooked a wire to the pump, and then it stoped,, you may have to do what we did---that was to remove the fuel lines {both pressure and return line] and let the back pressure off the pump, we got lucky, we had a nother ford sitting around that had a brown relay .... if you have a leak in the corner-check for water on the relays...
hope this helps--it did for us,,,,,,,,,,,,

nope not it. there was a ground in the power wire that went from the relay to the inersa switch had to run a new wire thru the firewall and it worked.
