Need help: connecting wires to a fuse box KingKong 07-09-2002, 10:56 PM
Hi all.. i'll make this short and simple.. I am a total newbie when it comes to wiring and anything electronic with cars, but I need a fairly detailed way(.. or atleast something that makes sense... ) of running a wire to a fuse box. I need to connect one lead wire to a 12v source to power some lights (added accesory), and the box tells me to use 'parking lights, high beams, etc. etc.'.. but ive been told a better way is to use the fuse box.. only problem is.. i dont know how how exactly would i go about connecting a wire to a 12v / 10a fuse/unused fuse properly and safely. Please.. any and all help (including pics!) would be EXTREMELY appreciated the car is a 1992 toyota tercel, but i guess just general help is all i request.. thank you in advance! Carlos Tercel_22 01-20-2004, 10:58 PM Step 1. Strip 1/4 inch off the wire. Step 2. Pull out you fuse that want it to run off of. Step 3. Wrap the wire around the metal on the fuse. Step 4. Jam the fuse back in. Tercel GTS 01-27-2004, 07:07 PM If you are a true noob to wiring I strongly suggest you have a shop do the connection for you. If you have the lights already mounted and the wires run, a shop won't charge much to make the connection, and it's way better than setting off the airbag or burning the ECU.
