hello I bought a Cold air intake from track racing about 4 months ago I put it on and I really didn't see any difference...yesterday I took off the cold air intake and put back on the rubber tube airbox and airfilter..it seems to run better and even a little faster........why?

does the intake go into the fender or is it like this picture.

If yours is like the one in the picture, it is not a cold air intake. An intake like this does not work well because it is sucking in hot air from the engine bay. The stock airbox will produce cooler air to the engine.

In order for it to be a cold air intake, the filter has to be situated outside the engine bay like in the fender well.

Yea ok I thought so I took off the intake and I bought a flexable long tube and I took off the airbox and panel and there was a hole where the grey peice use to be. I stuck a filter in from the botom and stuck the tube down in the hole so it is breathing cold air now, it took freaken forever to figure out where to put the filter!! after hours of thinking I finally did that...works great...does anyone else do the same thing????
