Replacing faulty Part

I just had to replace the Output Speed Sensor TR 8037155 the other day. When this part went bad on my 99" Chrysler 300M, the car would not go out of second gear. Once this part was replace, the car drove normally again. Do anyone knows if these cars always have problems with that sensor and is it easy to fix on your own. Furthermore, why do the transmission lock up like that when a part go bad, can someone please inform me on more information.

I assume the speedometer didn't work or was inconsistent. That is the sign your output sensor went bad. If the speedo works, then the input sensor is still good. These are about $30 and will take a first timer about 30 min to change out. If you do that, then remember that it is plastic bodied, so only snug it up when installing it.

The reason the tranny is only in second gear is that it has a "limp" mode to
get you home.
