sorry for all the posts lately guys, but i really wanna get the best bang for my buck when i go to buy a new engine. so would it be a better idea to go with a b18c1 (gsr) motor, and turbo that or should i go with the b18c5 (type-r) motor. because with the extra thousand dollars or so i would save doing the gsr swap i could possibly put a turbo on it. and doesnt the type-r motor come stock pretty much maxed out as far as power goes?

Obviously the turbo would be faster. But I wouldn't say the ITR is maxed out. You can still put higher compression pistons and better cams in it.

There's always a way to get more power from a motor, but you're probably (at least from my opinion) going to see more hp and torque results with the gsr + turbo

so would the gsr or the itr motor be the better buy as far as overall power and cost goes?

Probably with the gsr and turbo. It's been a while since i've been into the honda/acura scene but that's how it used to be. You never really wanted to turbo the itr because of the compression ratio. That was also three years ago so i don't know if things have changed or not...

hello, i'm new to this forum, i applogize if i am inturupting anyone's thread, but none has been able to help me. i have a 95 intgra, ls block, je rods, type r pistons, je rings, arp studs, gsr head, skunk2 intake manifold, titanium retainers, type r head internals, skunk2 stage 3 cams, stock injectors and fuel setup. i want to know if i can boost safely and how much can i boost, and if anyone can give me suggestion and option of all motor or boost, which ever is cost efficiant. thank you :banghead:. not putting the car on the street until the decision is made, so please help, the motor is open now with all the parts hanging around just waiting for someone to help. i looked one forum and someone told me with a ls block and gsr head and type r pistons the compression is 12.4:1 (which i don't belive), others told me 11.5:1 and then i saw 10.6:1, please help

there's no question about the better choice here....the turbo GSR would be substantially faster IF BUILT PROPERLY, but ITRs are fun on boost too :D
