OMG, I can't believe I did that, I put about 6 gallons of diesel to about 6 gallons of regular gas that was already in there. It was running rough but I drove it for about 15 miles to my mechanic. He is draining it, replacing the fuel filter and plugs. My question is: I am sooooo upset about this and love my Nissan Xterra truck, did I do any long term damage to the engine? Is there anything else I should do to it when I get it back? Please advise on this, about anything else. Thanks.

I can't believe you did that either since the diesel nozzle won't fit in your filler neck. It is too big. Anyhow, no, you didn't do any damage to your truck. You just need to have the fuel system flushed and your fuel filter replaced.

Just be glad that you don't drive a diesel and put regular in instead. :grinno:

Lots of the low-volume flow diesel pumps simply use gasoline pump nozzles, so its possible to make the error.
