I have a question.Supra Man 02-11-2001, 08:19 PM I have an older model Supra(87 Toyota Supra Turbo) it has the 7M-GTE engine in it and i was wondering how much horsepower canbe pumped out of it on stock internal. And what I need to do to get the most power out this particular engine. Plans so far include 500cc fuel injectors aftermarket exhaust(still not sure what kind though) K&N Air Filter kit(maybe) Morepowerful ignitor Turbo upgrade(sometime down the road) Air intake new intercooler HKS electronics like Turbo timers, etc NOS systems eventually I just need to see how much power I can pump out of it before changing the internals. Any help on better upgrades would be appreciated. kepone 02-11-2001, 09:35 PM what i would recommend right now are.. 1. apex-i avc-r ( boost controller , digital electronic ) 2. apex-i super afc ( fuel computer, digital electronic ) 3. 3" cat back exhaust 4. any good intake with a k&n filter with these mods, you should see at least 50-75 more HP.. most likely even more than that depending on the size of the turbo and stock injectors.. But I think he came here for answers. Why lead him astray? In answer to your question, with stock internals, I'd guesstimate at up to 350hp. Above that you'd run into problems. Mostly overheating and wear. How much does your car come with? honda_guy 06-04-2001, 06:10 AM The '87-92 Supra turbo had either 230 or 232hp. I forget which year it gained 2 ponies. With a 3600lb curb weight, it needs all it can get. I have been to many websites with info about the MKIII Supra, and I'm pretty sure the stock internals of the 7M-GTE can handle around 450-500 hp. I say pretty sure because I have also heard you need new pistons for 500hp, but thats it. The stock crank and rods are very strong. Yes, supraforums.com is a good place to go, especially since they recently put up an MKIII forum. Hey Supra Man, you still around? I have some questions for you regarding your Supra. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
