Suspension issue...I thinkmtcs 03-24-2006, 12:11 PM I have a 2001 jeep cherokee sport...still has the original suspension on it and it has never been touched...I have about 25000miles on it. Here is my problem, whenever i go over a bumpy road or in the dirt...the suspension compressing sounds like a "pssssss"....sound like a pump depressing or something...Is that normal. Is the stock suspension air or coil, or what... Any help would help! Ben Jeep-King 03-27-2006, 07:07 PM I Have a similar problem comming from my front suspension and i am pretty sure that it is the shocks. it sounds almost as if the fluid was being shot through a smaller hole than it should be . i think this might be due to either a dent or just wear and tear, but off course my jeep is an 89 and i dont know how new the shcks are, but it should be all around easier to just replace them you can get them as cheap as $15 a peice or for some better ones i would recommend getting ones that cost at least $40 each to be sure they will last.these shocks are also easy to replace they are only held on by 2 bolts and they are not too difficult to get to . ( at least in mine ) the whole procces for me took less than an hour. fredjacksonsan 03-29-2006, 10:58 AM You'll have some shock noise from time to time, especially if your Jeep runs quietly. I've had several vehicles of many makes, and got a little psh psh while going over small bumps. As long as the rebound/dampening is ok on your shocks, and you don't see any leaks, you should be ok. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
