Ok, so i'll be getting a Volvo 240 this summer from my dad, in exchange for my escort wich he'll be needing.

Tuning a 240 is quite nostalgic to tune up where i live (home town of volvo).
Since it's RWD and got alot of engine space we'll be swapping in a v6/v8 engine.

Now we dont have alot of money, but we found afew options, mainly a mustang v6 for about 175$. If you find that way to much, mustang engines aren't really easy to find here. Im not good at pricing.

Now how hard is the swap itself? and how much is there to remove/add to make it fit and stay in place?

Also, i know the transmission cant take all that much power, but how much beating will it take from easy reving, not going past 3500rpm?

I'm pretty sure the volvo transmission isnt going to bolt up to that motor. As for how hard its it going to be to put in... physically installing it shouldnt be hard, but making it work may be... you didnt bother to tell us what year or model v6, carbed or fuel injected, ect. I would stick with the stock motor over pretty much any ford v6.

Chevy 350 small block has been inserted in quite a few volvo's. I couldn't tell you how easy it is, but it didn't look TOO bad....

Get a small block chevy and a 350 turbo tranny, THE two cheapest and most easiest to find engine and tranny combo in the world. Its a no-brainer in my opinion if you want to go cheap....and can make a lot of beans with very little money.
