My 96 Altima air bag light has started to flash continuously. no check engine light on, any ideas? Thanks

yeah this was known to happen alot. You can actually go into self diag using the door switch for the airbag system. Simple by pressing the door switch 7 time with in 10 seconds.. The problem your having is your in self diag. Simply get into your car and after turnig the key to the on postion click you door switch 7 times with in 10 seconds , then watch your air bag light .. it may go into a longer blink. Then you ll need to do this step one more time .. key off and again.. then after the 2nd time start the car ... the light should do it's normal systme check then go out.. you can give me a shout if you have any more questions

It stays on for 2 Seconds, then flashes 7 times then goes out. It then repeats the cycle.

What does he mean when he says "door switch" what is the door switch?? Is he talking about the lock?? damn, people u gotta be a little bit more clear. I have the same problem but since I dont understand what "door switch" means Im still confused.

Open your driver's side door. The door switch is a small black knob on the pillar between the front and the back door.

The point is that you should press the door switch before it starts to flash.
