i Have a 93 super coupe and i think there might be a problem with the tranny. when i first start to drive it, shifting is easy and smooth. but as i drive it more like an hour or so i can still shift into gear but it seems like there is alot more resistance to make it go into gear than when i start driving in the beggining of the day. if i stop somewhere for a couple hours then start to drive again the tranny shift fine. i seems like if i drive for longer times the tranny gives me more resistance. any help is appreciated.

Im not sure about that particular tranny but the one one the ranger I used to have that had a 2.9L V6 with a manual didnt have a dip stick but an oil level check screw on the side of the tranny. After you pull out the screw you'd simply fill it up fairly slowly unitl it overflows. If its that kind of tranny.

It will have a plug in the side of the tranny(there will be 2, it's the top one, should have a 3/8" square in it), you unscrew it and stick your little finger in there. If you can't feel fluid it's low, it should be within 1/4" of the top hole.

It could be possible it's just the tranny gear ratio's probably different and probably stronger made....Not really sure, as to the dipstick thing, some car manufactures believed you would never have to change or check your tranny fluid so some tranny's they didn't provide a dipstick with.
