Yep, crazy car! A few weeks ago when I put on the brakes the headlights would dim just a bit. Then just last week my coolant level light came on then the car just lost all power, no radio, nothing! Well, I checked all the wires & couldn't find anything. I shut the hood & went to try & start it & it started! Then it happened again a few days later, first the coolant level then it died! Again when I shut the hood it started! So from then on all I do is open & shut the hood & it runs! I have a new battery, alternator, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, all the typical Malibu problems have been taken care of! Any ideas what this problem could be??

ill i can say is have it professonially looked at it could be something serious, check the sensors, or even the fuses or grounds for any problems

sounds like you have a ground issue!

check your positive batt cable at the battery, i had mine do the same thing. they put two cables together and they corrode between the "plates" that bolt to your battery

Yes, mine had same corrosion at the positive terminal. It was badly corroded and it was AC Delco battery!!! They say it is very common problem.
