on the freeway minding my own business and a ecko comes outa knowere and stops right on the side of me:eek7:

he drops back, and i'm thinking maybe he seen i was a vr4 and it scared him away.....nope he jumps right back on the side of me, jerking his car:screwy:

i'm still in shock, so i look behind me, and there's no cars
i look in front and there's no cars(atleast not for about half a mile) :grinno: lol and this damn ecko is wanting to race.

usually when a car like that wants to race me, its usually cause they just wanna see my car run. so i'm in 4th at 60mph at about 2700rpms and he punches it:uhoh:
so i just barely touch on the gas and let the turbo's spool up to about 2psi and pull on him by 1 and a half cars. it stayed like this for about 5 seconds and then i let off, actually amazed that i one that easily.
but once i let off, i jumps over 2 lanes to get on the left side of me and flys by me.:cwm27:

i just shake my head and drive normall the rest of the way home:grinno:

That reminds me, have any of you seen that VW thats supercharged and turbo charged? Apparently the SC is for low end power and the turbo kicks in for the higher end of the power band so you get the bes of both worlds.

Volkswagen's new Twincharger engine offers a fuel-efficient alternative to hybrids

How's this for a hybrid? Volkswagen's first-of-its-kind Twincharger engine, arriving this fall in the Europe-only Golf GT, marries a diminutive 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine to both a supercharger and a turbocharger. The pint-size power plant gobbles oxygen, not gas, cranking out commendable performance and outstanding fuel economy.

Both 'chargers work on the same principle: Force air into the engine to generate more power. At low rpms, the super-charger—driven by a belt connected to the engine's crankshaft—blasts fresh air into the cylinders to enhance low-end torque. At high revs, the exhaust gas brings the turbocharger up to speed to bolster top-end performance.

VW won't say if it plans to bring the Twincharger to North America, but if $3 for a gallon of gas becomes routine, the company just might find a market for a sporty 48mpg hatchback.
