Ok, I keep asking mainly about the same things, but hopefully that will stop soon, when I get to work on my car. I'm puzzled about a few things. Some questions I ask just out of curiosity, others I really don't have an exact answer for.

Car - 1984 Toyota Celica ST

1.) With jackstands, and working under your car in general, a friend said that when the manaul says to "make sure it's balanced", that this is referring to the car leaning side to side, not forwards or backwards, and that I don't need to get four jackstands lol. True?

2.)When I asked my friend about my starting problem (hesistation when engines cold, but no problems when the car is warmed up already), he immediately said it was the starter, and that I should check it. Why wouldn't it be the cold start injector (if I have one, I think I do)?

3.) Do any of you guys trust oil filters like Fram or do you go to a dealership and use what they use?

4.) I have a good amount of play in my gears. My uncle says "older cars are just like that." I doubt that, and I'm sure others have gotten rid of the play. Do any of you prefer having the play, and how hard is it to fix that?

That's all I can think of right now, I promise to get some under the hood pics of the car soon. Everything's stock, so don't judge me yet lol

I don't want to get rid of this car, I'd like to keep it, but the body needs the most work of all, I'm going to get an estimate soon.

1. well if you are using just two jackstands for either the front or back shouldn't be a problem, i had my 84 jacked up on two stands to change out the bushings, no biggy there.

2. My starter was pretty bad when it was cold, sometimes it wouldn't even turn if it got warmed up and cooled down to quickly, i'd have to get out the tire iron and wack it a few times to get it going. But I'm not too sure about your situation.

3. If you're doing your own changes I think fram is fine, it's not like your running a special motor, the 22Rs will be fine.

4. Not sure, i had an auto 84, but the 5 spd had a tall shifter may make it feel like there is more play than there really is.

4.) Well, there's a picture of my shifter, don't know if that's considered tall or not. My friend has one that's as tall as a dang computer mouse lol.

6.) NEW- One friend informed me that clutch fluid should act like oil. I shouldn't be adding clutch fluid constantly (after a week or week and a half or two), but I do have too. How much you wanna bet I have a leak? Maybe it's fine?

Here are three pics of the car under the hood. I'm going shopping tomorrow, buying a few things lol. But for those of you who thought (in my other thread), that I didn't have a cold start injector, do you still think so, or are you unable to tell?

Guys, would this be my fuel filter?

I don't want to try and change the wrong thing lol.

If I am correct, that matches the image here

Anyone know?

that thing u circled is the wiper motor. the fuel filter for a 22re is right under the intake manifold, on the side of the engine block. the oil filter is in that same area, but the fuel filter should be above the oil filter and toward the rear of the engine.

Thanks a lot, dang, that means I gotta go under there and look lol. The oil filter is, in my mind, a very irritating spot lol.
