1994 b250 van egr meltdown

While doing a basic tune-up we noticed that the transducer on the egr valve was completely melted. We replaced the whole unit and now it runs great until you put it in drive then it starts hesitating and tries to die. It didn't have this problem before. Any ideas?

Hey meltdown, this happened in my '95 dodge van. turned out my catalytic converter was clogged. I did the no no....... I cut my exaust pipe and punched out the innerds. I replaced ,for the 3rd time, the EGR sensing and sender unit. This solved my problem for now. Something to look into:smokin:
