I'm planning on flipping my ball joints in the next week or 2 when I install the new suspension. I've read that it's a good idea to replace the ball joints on a "high milage" vehicles.

My trooper has 72,000 miles. So I wanted to get some opinions from people who know far more about these vehicles that I do.

At 72,000, Should I go ahead and replace the ball joints even if they look to be in good shape? Or will that be a waste, and I should just re-use the original ball joints?

Thanks to everyone who gives an opinion !! :werd:

72Kmi isn't bad at all on isuzu BJ's. They seem to last forever on a stock 'zu. If you have the front suspension apart and 'tension' off the BJ's, I'd replace them since you are half way there already.

Ok, so it looks like I'll just buy new ball joints.....Then I should never have to replace them again.

Anybody know of anywhere they can be bought for less than $50 each? Or is that a pretty good price?
