Hi all,
Sorry, but I couldn't find anything doing a search so I apologize if this has been asked repeatedly. My 01 GTP came with a Thrasher CAI on it when I bought it about 3 months ago. I'd like to clean the filter on it but not sure the best method. I've heard you have to soak them in solvent then reapply an oil coating. What kind of solvent and oil should be used? Is there kits for this and if so can anybody recommend one. Thrasher's website didn't list anything that I could find either. Thanks for any replies.

All you need is a K&N filter recharge kit. It has the cleaner and protective oil. Get the one with spray filter oil.

BTW - Thrashers come with a K&N clone cone filter made by S&B but the process is the same.

Kit is available at most national auto parts stores for around $10.

You are welcome. BTW - It is recommended not to use too much filter oil. Light coat. Excess oil may work itself further into the intake system and coat the MAF sensor hot wire elements which may eventually cause driveability problems or trigger a SES light. Good luck!

Good choice on your CAI. Thrasher (number one). :bigthumb:
