The funniest thing in my life happened today, i was driving past the school, and i hit a red light at the end of the street, when a car pulls up beside me, i look over, it's about a 40 year old woman driving a grand prix gtp, and she has 3 teenage kids in the back, the kids were staring at my car, as most kids do, one waved, so i nodded back, then i looked up, the light went green, and this lady just hammered the gas, kids flew back in the seat, tires squeeled, so i hammered on it, came up on her and blew by her, then let off my gas and slow down cause i know the photo radar truck usually parks on that street to catch high school kids after school (because from that light to the next is exactly a 1/4 mile, everybody uses it to race) and she keeps on the gas hard, and blows by me, probly going about 80mph, i drive about another 10 feet, and sure enough, there's the photo rader truck on the other side of a bunch of bushes, man is that lady ever gonna be pissed when she get's that ticket, she was going at least double to 3 times the speed limit.

to be completely honest, i've had alot of people say stuff like that about my car, i know it's a 301, but nobody thinks it is, my 0-60 is a little over 6 seconds. i beat a 68 mustang with a stock 390, and that guy accused me of having a 454 and saying i got a 301 lol, i think the previous owner of the engine did something too it, it's a 301 from a 77, and it has 10 times the kick of the original 301 the car had.

also, the car that the engine came out of was a 79, and the engine's a 77, i think that means engine swap, he migh have thrown a cam and stuff in it, it's always had a real rough idle, and the heads have no numbers or markings on them, which i found really strange, the engine has been a huge ball of mysteries since i got it, i think the guy wanted to make it a sleeper engine or something, alot of stuff just doesn't add up, when i get my 350, i'd love to tear this thing apart and see what the hell.

all i know is that i've only ever lost a handfull of races, i've beat lots of 90 model skyline gt-r's, srt-4's, evo's, ecplises, civic's, and tons of other imports. the only thing i've really ever lost too is stuff like corvette's or other muscle cars.

Haha... this is true. Hell, one time when I worked at a car wash, this old lady (like 50s) came in a fox body 5.0 blasting Slayer! Either she didn't know how to turn it off or she was into some metal!

yup, there's a japanese car importer out on the edge of town, so those little 90-91 skylines, mr2's, and fairlady's are EVERYWHERE, i've raced 2 actual gtr model skylines, both were rolling starts, and i wasted both of them, one guy actually got pissed off, did a ricer fly by and flipped me off after. my friend is obsessed with imports, he was with me when i raced the first gtr, he went on and on for weeks to everybody about how i beat a gtr, he thought it was better than sex lol

i personally haven't done alot, i put a different 301 in, replaced the plugs, 8mm wires, msd distributer coil and module, k&n air filter, and i think that's about all i've done to it, but like i said earlier, whoever owned this engine before did some work on it, i'm not sure of the extent though.

i know now that my heads are aftermarket, i asked my mechanic earlier today about the fact that the heads have no markings on them, and he told me they weren't stock gm heads, but he couldn't tell what brand they were, it's got a dual plane intake, and besides the engine, i have no idea if there's been extra stuff done to the rest of the car, when i got it, it already had a flowmaster exhaust system, new shocks, springs, and leafs, and there was a number written on the diff in yellow, so i think the axle / diff has been replaced, also has a freshly rebuilt turbo 350 with a shift kit, that's about all i know...

Original 301? Are you sure? I didnt know 301 was offered from the factory. I know they had a 307 on the older ones -73 and 305 on the 74+. Correct?

301's were available in Pontiacs from 1977 - 1981, some of those were even turbocharged.
