Ya know what I just thought would be cool? If we had an F-Body meet every June 7. Because... June 7th, is month 6, and then day 7. And the Firebirds and Camaro's both came out in 67. And since it will be during the summertime, that'll benefit the guys n gals here who are still in school. This upcoming June 7th falls on a Wednesday. If we have to, we can move it to the weekend on like the 9th or 10, which would be a Friday or Saturday. I don't know, just an idea. What do ya'll think?

philly rs

well this all started because alot of us live here in florida and have never met. florida is a small ass state and i thought that was crazy that we never hang out or anything. so everyone down here wanted to have a florida meet so we could all get 2gether and hand out. now that wasnt to say that only florida people could come, because we have all been talking to one another for years sum of us longer than others and it would be cool to kick it and get a chance to look at the cars we all sit up all night and talk about. now we can also do a af meet somewhere in the mid zone (where in the hell ever that is) but we will need to work on that one. see we can organize a florida meet in no time, u can drive anywhere here in a few hours and make it home afterwards if u want. now going somewhere else where alot of us dont live, its going to take hotel stay, trip time, location and all that good stuff. this is a good time to talk about the f body gathering. g10 is in may on that 3 day weekend (memoral day) the site is up for people to register now u all should check it out. i heard the new concept camaro will be brought there by gm so alot is supposed to happen there this year...just sum food for thought

okokok... I think we should have LOCAL AF meetings. My maro would cost me so much in gas I could probably BUY Orlando or Louisville by the time I got there.

How about we do a Philly meet, I'll put up $50 for Cheesesteaks, and if you don't mind a 160 pound rottie sticking his tongue in your ear in the morning... my basement is open. (XBOX down there, and beer fridge too - oh yeah and about 120 bottles of liquor I inherited.)

68 302H block (torque monster, supposed to be in a Galaxie that weighs in a good few hundred pounds over a fox)
heads donated from a '98 Exploder (a real advantage over the stockers by all means)
comp cam (don't remember the exact grind # off the top of my head but it's a good mid ragne street/strip)
t5 trans
street avenger carb
msd points ignition.

all old school, all n/a

Street radials we got him in 15's
drag radials, I think his most recent best was in the mid 13's, I think the car can do better and he's not reacting just yet.

Many nights spent til 3 in the morning tuning that damn thing then he goes and messis with again and gets it out of whack. Called me this weekend telling me he just rebuilt the carb, but "oh, can you come over and look at something for me?" urrg. :nutkick:

ahh i see....i have no problem with people spending their money on anything they want, IF they have the money...if someone wants to buy a million dollar home, that is great, but they shouldnt go weeks without food to pay for it, you know? i dont have a problem with people smoking, thats their problem, but when they are that apparently poor yet spend hundreds a month on cigarettes, that should be cause for concern on their part. i've seen people try to use food stamps to pay for cigarettes......

Earlsfat
03-15-2006, 10:12 AM
Well in PA ciog are ~$5 a pack... 1.5 miles down the road in DE they're ~$2.50 for the same exact thing.

I quit for health reasons, and b/c I wanna see my kids grow up, etc.

and yeah, the V8 / 4cyl... you switched engines b/c of a reason (whatever it would be) and it would work, but you'd be VERY unhappy about it.

Oh and I start up and uit every tax season about 2 or three times. Originally quit 5 years ago - smoked 2 packs a day. (Man was I a grouchy bastard for a couple months.)

666_speed
03-15-2006, 10:19 AM
but say $5 a pack, 2 a day, $10 a day, that's a lot of money that could be put into a car, house, whatever...i'm not trying to lecture anyone about smoking or anything...i'm mostly just making fun of those who can't afford to yet will do without just to smoke, kinda sad

wrightz28
03-15-2006, 10:21 AM
Yeah, but Jim here's the irony, we're probably gonna die now because we quit. For the 16 years I smoked i never had any discomforts or problems. Now I got blood pressure problems, sporadic chest pains, you name it.

I tell ya, i never liked George Burns for some reason. But i caught him once on a talk show, toking away on a sotgie as usual, and was asked if he'd ever clean up. He answered "20 years ago my doctor told me if I didn't straighten up I'd be dead soon. Well i still smoke my cigars, and have 5 martinis a day, he (the doctor) died a few years later".

666_speed
03-15-2006, 10:24 AM

i'm mostly just making fun of those who can't afford to yet will do without just to smoke, kinda sad

Not kinda sad... VERY SAD.

I LOVE SMOKING.. but it's bad shit man. You never realize just how bad until you're laying in bed at night trying to catch your breath. AND you save like 3K-4K per year for quitting, don't get tired as fast during sex (probably the best reason for quitting), you stuff doesn't stink...

Yeah, but Jim here's the irony, we're probably gonna die now because we quit. For the 16 years I smoked i never had any discomforts or problems. Now I got blood pressure problems, sporadic chest pains, you name it.

Kinda scary... you and I could be twins.

I could really care what week it is as long as it's a saturday or something because I don't work weekends. The woman works weekends so I wouldn't have to bring her along, yay.
