I have an '01 Sebring 2.4L engine and I'm hearing a noise (kind of a clunk/pop) when going over some bumps but only in the drivers front suspension area - near my feet. I can feel some vibration in teh floor board. The passenger's side is fine. I have changed the tie-rod recently. I have also changed the front stablizer bar link stud. Both are still good because I went under and shook them. It really only happens at low speed. Sometimes the noise is pretty loud but I cannot feel anything in the steering wheel when it happens. Any opinios are apperciated...thanks for your support.

What I am thinking is it may be the balljoints. . . The way to test for ball joints is to raise that tire (that tire only) off the ground slightly (an inch or so) and stick a prybar under the tire and try to pry up on the tire. If you feel any play at all other than normal up and down movement, the balljoint is bad. Also, while this one wheel is in the air, grab the tire at the 3&9 o'clock and see if it will move. Then try 6&12 o'clock. If you feel any play, it could indicate the tierods, (inner/outer) balljoints, or wheel bearings. Another thing it may be, though pretty rare is the upper strut mounting bushings or sagging coil springs. Jack the vehicle up and see if you can see your strut tower move (look from under the hood) when the vehicle is being jacked up. Good luck, acampinoob
