electric turbo any good?

hey i was looking on ebay an they sell electric turbo it mounts in your intake tube and blows 2.1psi in to your motor will that help me out in horsepower in such can anyone tell me if they have 1 and if they make a big increase,there $170,and my car is a 98 cavalier ls 4dr,2200 automatic 4 speed.

Its been said time and again,they dont work.They cannot move enough cfm of air to even keep the engine fed,speak nothing of actually building pressure.They arent positive displacement,so they will never build pressure.When off,air is bypassing the vanes,so this means there is no positive means of pumping air into pressure (like an air compressor).They live a short,hard life and burn out.A lot of them were designed for marine bilge use,not air intake purposes.

They are about as good as those resistors you can buy on ebay to give you like 20hp!

ok kool so i guess ill pass on buying that, but that theroy pushing air throught the intake faster wil that boost horsepower?

You would have to push more air than the engine was consuming.Thats pretty tough without a positive displacement blower going full tilt.
