How hard do you drive your car and what type of engine oil do you find works best for you? How often do you change it? What filter do you prefer and why?

I read the oil FAQ but I want some personal opinions.

i drive my car as if it's a little fuel economy civic. i used mobil 1 5w-30 oil, with a fram oil filter. fram oil filters suck, or so i hear, so i am going to start running OEM filters

I drive hard every weekend. My weekends are booked with autocrosses and track days. I use Mobil 1 0w-30 but switching back to Mobil 1 5-30 for more peace of mind, with OEM Honda filters or Mobil 1 filters.

Castrol GTX 10w-30 for now but I don't know if its good, and change it according to manual, and I drive slow...well try to at least. I've been hearing synthetic oil isn't good but I'm not sure.

castrol 5w30 and wix filters. i have experienced that the wix out perform the oem filters. when i was using oem, at about 2500 miles hte oil was quite contaminated and breaking down pretty bad. with the wix it still looked really good at the 2500 mile mark. i've driven to 3500 with the oil still in good shape with the wix filters. and i drive my car hard during the week and harder on the weekends

my oil turns real dark after 500 miles. any ideas why? or is this normal for a civic.
I change it about every 3000 miles.
I don't race or autocross but I do tend to have a heavy foot.
