What is the meaning of dual port? Also, what does K.P. and B.J. mean in reference to the front end? Thanks. bluebug 03-02-2006, 09:16 PM Dual Port is that you have to ports going into the heads, one for each jug. Single port is just that, one port going into the head and splitting to each jug inside the head. Dual port manifolds look like an 8 and single ports are an O. K.P. is probably kingpin and B.J. would be balljoint. Clark Norm74 03-02-2006, 10:34 PM Thanks Clark, makes pretty good sense I guess. BoatCop 03-02-2006, 11:01 PM The dual port may also be referred to as a "Twin Port", so you might see the abbreviation "TP". King-pin front suspension was used on Bugs up until 1965. 1966 and later models have the ball joint front end. Super Beetles, introduced in the 1971 model year had ball-joint suspension, but was coupled with a Macphearson strut front end, rather than the torsion tube and shock set up on the "standard" Beetles.
