Thud in rear when stopping!jsheffield 02-28-2006, 12:59 AM Hello Everyone, I drive a 99 with 4X4. I have noticed that when I come to a stop I feel a thud in the rear of the vehicle. I can not figure out where the noise is originating from. I initially thought that my spare may be loose, but it is solid as a rock. Can someone help? Thanks, jsheffield corning_d3 02-28-2006, 01:38 AM Try removing your driveshaft from the transmission, and greasing the splines. This trick has worked on a lot of chevy's. pennypicher 03-03-2006, 11:11 PM We have the same truck and about 99K the rearends gave us lots of noise. Had them rebuilt under 100K warranty. If not what about rear brake drums sticking? cdc692003 03-06-2006, 02:31 PM check to make sure that spare tire under truck is tight and not moving around....... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
