1995 Saturn SL 148K Manual.

1. Jack car and remove passenger side wheel. secure car with a jack stand.

2. Remove the plastic splash guard held together by a plastic tab on the side and on the bottom hooked to the cradle.

3. Remove the serpentine belt

4. Using a 10 mm deep socket and ratchet remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump. Move pump out of the way.

5. Using a 10 mm short socket or a skinny 10 mm. wrench and remove the top bolt holding the tensioner in place. throught the wheel well to remove the lower bolt holding the tensioner in place. The tensioner will come out now.

6. Reverse the steps to install the new tensioner. You are done. You have just removed the tensioner pulley without removing the top motor mount. The only thing you should have a problem with should be removing the top bolt holding the tensioner, but that is where the thin 10mm wrench does its magic. You can get this wrench at Sears Hardware. Love that place! Good luck and happy wrench turning.
