Hello from Krakow POLAND. Shipped my truck here two months ago.

Truck is getting 200 per fill up worst part is its $100 US a shot. :2cents: :banghead:

Can the Fuel Injectors be adjusted to compensate for a richer fuel?
Can the computer be adjusted?
Part of problem is the fuel is 95% unlike the 87% octane I was using in states.

There is a dealership here OPAL, they have a different version of me truck
and no 3.5 L engines until very recently. That leaves me a little leery these mechanics exsperementing on me truck, its an option.

I have a Carchip if that might helps, gives me information about performance.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Did you just purchase this vehicle? Were you the owner while it was in the States? What mileage did it get in the US? You should get about 290 miles per tank of fuel. The higher octane shouldn't hurt mileage, but it just doesn't seem to improve it much either. It will improve performance. I have a 99' and it didn't get very good mileage either at first. I've done a number of things to try to improve it. The BEST thing i've done is install a 750 ohm resister in series with the IAT sensor. This shifted the timing on the ignition and helped mpg a little. I've also installed larger tires to travel more distance for each rotation of the tires. And I installed a vortex generator in the air intake hose which seemed to help mpg slightly. With the higher octane you described, you could probably install a 1000 ohm resister and still not get valve 'ping'. That would be even better than the 750 ohm resistor.

I was wondering sort of the same thing. My 99 is on its way overseas and here in Bosnia the lowest rated fuel is 95. My buddy has a Wrangler and his CEL is on full time. He took it to get it checked out and was told that it was nothing to worry about, the Jeep just doesn't like the high octane and that he will probably have to replace his plugs a little sooner than normal. Do you think I will see something similar witht the trooper?
Thanks,
Tom

Just got in from Germany. I was stopping to get fuel at around 273miles. The gaughe was just a hair to the right of E so I guess thats decent. I was averaging about 85mph coming down through Germany and Austria and yes, 90Euro fill-ups suck!!!
