Does anyone have any good ideas as to putting serpentine belt back on? Tension pully is aftermarket and does not want to move enough to slide belt back on. it is on a 96 T & C 3.8 LXI

Never had that experience though I've removed it many times on my 96GC with the 3.8ltr. Before you do anything make sure you have the right belt (is it a new one?). Is it routed right? Might want to concider an OEM tensioner pulley. I paid $26 at the dealer three years ago.

All that said and done try loosening up the alternator.

It's not a new belt. just finished taking off the alternator to get to the back of the engine. Can't get any play with alternator loose either. Last time had to take the water pump pulley off and put it on that way (PITA), but it works. It's kinda cold out so mother nature isn't helping. Thanks though!

I use to live back east. I feel for you. Try heating up the belt to make it a little more plyable.
