Hello-
Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated...we have a 1987 Ford Econoline Van. Our situation is that when we press the brakes our left rear brake light goes out. Otherwise, all lights, signals, brake lights, head lights, parking lights etc... "do" work. The only problem seems to be when we press the brakes the one brake light goes out...it comes back on once we release the brake. Hope to hear from you.
Thanks!

Added on 2/16/06: We have replaced the bulb w/ the 1157...that didn't work...we re-grounded the ground wire...that didn't work...any other ideas??

Hope to hear any suggestions...thank you.

Hi, RE, Your brake lite problem on your 87 E, van...Lots of fun with ford wiring, Spend some time checking all your connectors to the rear lamps, don't pass anything up, look for green, loose, rusty etc. connectors. IF, all of this is ok, You probably have a defective turn signal switch, the brake lite circuit is integrated thru the switch, if so either way it's an easy and inexpensive fix..GOOD LUCK...Clay..

Has it ever been wired for trailer lights? I had a situation where a faulty trailer pig tail caused the same thing due to a short in the plug.
