1989 riviera engine swap "C" and "L" block question

hi,

i have a 1989 buick riviera with a "c" engine code, and i have acquired an engine from a 1991 buick regal with a "L" engine code. the engine looks almost identical, are there any problems to mounting this engine? i have the complete ecu and wiring harness.

Different mounts maybe, exhaust manidoflds, also 91 pcm assumes and is wired for electronic trans controls, check into this first.

If the tranny is available and in good condition, I would pay the extra to get the complete assembly. Like Max said, the 89 & 91 trans controls are different. The 89 used a cable throttle control instead of electronic control.
