New 1/4 mile times for SS/SC.BullDog71ss 02-11-2006, 02:52 AM Went to the track again tonight. Hadn't been there in over 2 months and it was around 68-70 degrees out tonight. Last best time was 14.69 @ 98 mph w/ a 2.4 60'. New best is 14.51 @ 99 mph w/ a 2.3 60'. All mods are the same as the old best time but the track was prepped much nicer tonight than any other night I've been to Fireturd. I feathered it off a 1500 rpm launch and didn't get a bit of wheel hop. Had I known I was gonna be able to actually hook up without wheel hopping I would have given it a bit more agressive launch and cut the time down even more. I also only got 2 runs in and I was there for over 3 hours...and people wonder why we street race. :disappoin In other news my buddy got kicked out of the track after breaking his 13.55 tech time with a 13.3 @ 113 mph w/ a 2.4 60' in his convert 03 Cobra. It was his first time out to the track so I'd say he did damn good. His only mod is a magnaflow catback. TatII 02-11-2006, 04:06 AM thats a damn good trap speed for the amount of mods you got, but why did your friend get kicked off the track for such a low time? don't your track require you to have a helment no matter what the time you run? -Jayson- 02-11-2006, 11:18 AM damn it, now i need to do a little work to my car. I want to be the fastest supercharged 4 cylinder!!!! nice times bro, your trap speed is really good. Thanks tat. My buddy got the boot from the track because his car is a convertable and it has no roll cage or styling bar. Yes, they consider a styling bar worthy equipment to get a convertable into the 11's, what a joke. So now he's gotta install a cheapo styling bar to go back to the track. They were pissed at him for breaking out of his tech time as well, it was pretty funny. I hate the staff at that track. BullDog71ss 02-11-2006, 11:47 AM damn it, now i need to do a little work to my car. I want to be the fastest supercharged 4 cylinder!!!! nice times bro, your trap speed is really good. For every mod you do, I'll do two. How's that? ;) What else is left for improvement on your car anyway? Do you have poly mounts? How about a set of drag radials? Have you considered the stg 12 gm kit for you car...it costs about $55,000 and they take your cavy and replace it with a C6, best mod ever. Mr. Luos 02-11-2006, 12:02 PM Your track is open. You suck. BullDog71ss 02-11-2006, 12:37 PM Your track is open. You suck. Dude, it's been like 83+ out for a couple weeks here. Our track never closes, but this is the ONLY good time of year to run. My first time out the track air temps were 102 degrees at 10:30 pm! -Jayson- 02-11-2006, 12:43 PM pfft ive got so much to do to my car. . . 2.6 pulley -10PSI 62MM TB Exhaust Cut Out Lower Mount ECU tunning Transmission Tunning Port N Polish Secret Cam swap Alcohol Injection i think thats about all i will ever plan to do. I should see mid-high 13's with all that done. How the hell are you going to tune the damn thing when the ECU still hasnt been cracked open. GM put an encryption on those things that insane and it's on a cavy! Why!?!?11 They did the same thing to the Cobalt as well, we're all a little pissed about that. I also heard that a company was working hard at opening up the ECU for the cavy, but then stopped as soon as the C6 came out. I'm telling you dude, you need the stg 12 kit! As far as the mods that can still be done to your car go, I can see mid 13's @ 102-104 mph easy, so long as you catch traction. I think you can run a 14.2 sec. 1/4 mile if you get out of the hole a little better. Keep practicing, and cut your 60' time down. Buy some BFG DR's and you'll run alot faster. Buy some BFG DR's and you'll run alot faster. I'm positive I could get the times down a good bit more on this current setup. The problem is, it'll take a good amount more practice launching the car at the track. More practice means more runs, but how the hell do you get more practice at a track where you're only able to get two runs in three hours?!? I hate that track. Deciding if I wanna sig that... Have at it ;) 2000LS1Z28 02-11-2006, 07:28 PM I'm positive I could get the times down a good bit more on this current setup. I go to a track where we only get two runs in 8 hours. Ask Danno and he will confirm. BullDog71ss 02-11-2006, 07:36 PM Don't even start. I go to a track where we only get two runs in 8 hours. Like I said, people wonder why we streetrace and that is the reason...:disappoin -Jayson- 02-11-2006, 11:11 PM HPtuners my friend, they are going to start beta testing really soon, they are also working on your cobalt tunning software. Check them out at www.hptuners.com BullDog71ss 02-12-2006, 12:07 AM HPtuners my friend, they are going to start beta testing really soon, they are also working on your cobalt tunning software. Check them out at www.hptuners.com Yeah, those are the guys. A Jbody buddy of mine that works at Pacesetter was telling me they were making good ground on breaking into the code, but then dumped it when the C6 came out. Maybe they're picking back up again? -Jayson- 02-12-2006, 10:55 AM they stopped for a little bit when the C6 came out, but now the code is finsished. Thte software is written and coded. Now they are just waiting for some new type of USB cable that they are going to be using. 2000LS1Z28 02-12-2006, 03:05 PM My car is HPTuned, and I can tell you it's insane. I believe they added 25whp to my car, as it had a cam, with the HPTuner. Most likely you should get a S/C belt and then tune it. I'm sure it will kick out close to 280whp with a tune and a smaller belt (I'm guessing it's smaller to get more psi, so don't quote me on it). Igovert500 02-12-2006, 04:01 PM Nice new PB...and the stage 12 thing was f-ing hilarious. BullDog71ss 02-12-2006, 04:04 PM Nice new PB...and the stage 12 thing was f-ing hilarious. Thanks. Glad you like my corny sense of humor as well. :grinyes: Elk 02-19-2006, 05:57 AM Went to the track again tonight. Hadn't been there in over 2 months and it was around 68-70 degrees out tonight. JekylandHyde 02-19-2006, 07:27 AM Congrats on the new best ;) Mr. Luos 02-19-2006, 09:41 AM HPTuners is some kickass software. That is what I am using here. Takes a while to learn though...SO many charts. BullDog71ss 02-19-2006, 01:27 PM I'm guessing your Cobalt doesn't have an LSD, am I right? Nope, no LSD. But that's not really important for launching at this point. Congrats on the new best ;) Thanks. :) BullDog71ss 02-19-2006, 01:28 PM HPTuners is some kickass software. That is what I am using here. Takes a while to learn though...SO many charts. Well I'm hoping they'll have something for the Cobalt sooner or later. I'm at the mercy of GM when it comes to tuning at this point in time and I hate that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
