oil light....Voyagernfl fan 02-10-2006, 12:10 PM I have 1998 plymouth voyager. Just recently I notice oil light comes on when idle at traffic light. But when I accellarate oil light goes off. I have checked oil level and it's fine. What seems to be the problem? The Mailman 02-14-2006, 07:50 PM same problem here.. I'm wondering if it a bad sensor or moisture got inside the connector plug. nfl fan 02-15-2006, 08:42 AM Would you know where that sensor may be located at? I hate to pay out when the problem may be simple. And if I decided to take to be looked at,do think it may be expensive?:shakehead RIP 02-15-2006, 04:18 PM If it's a 3.3 or 3.8 ltr engine the oil pressure sending unit is located on the engine block right next to the oil filter on the forward bottom of the engine. If it's a 3.0 ltr the sending unit is located on a short tube extending from the base of the oil filter mount housing. If it's a 2.4 ltr, you got me. Try next to the filter somewhere. I'd be surprised if they cost more than $30. Ask the dealer. If the pump is bad...for now just hope it's not. Usually when a pump goes you get no pressure and a constant light. Please let us know what the fix was. Couple other things to consider: Are you way overdue for an oil change? Have you changed to a different viscocity oil or synthetic oil recently? Is the idle RPM where it should be? Stevo2 02-16-2006, 03:03 AM I would change the sender unit. Get one from NAPA/CarQuest or the dealer, some of the chain stores carry junk. Probably cost you $20 or less. Algrandv 02-17-2006, 09:37 PM I havethe same engine light problem at present . All I did before was have an oil change and top off the oil level and solves the engine light problem(That was 2 months ago. But now it recurring. I did check oil level and is fine. I will try your suggestion (sensing unit) do you have any diagram for this? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
