1989 Thunderbird Standard 3.8 V6

OK, in one of the more bone headed things i've done so far, I drove my 1989 Thunderbird for a little over an hour and a little over 15 miles without an air filter. Its a K&N, and I took it out when I parked my car last night because Ive been meaning to service it for some time now. I never got around to cleaning it, and I completely forgot I had even removed it. Now for those 15 miles, could I have done any damage to my engine at all???

THANKS ALL.....

i dont think damage .. but you probably got alot of dirt into the engine ..

what i would do is:
1. spray down your throttle body with cleaner
2. change the oil

i was thinking about cleaning the throttle body. after spraying throttle body cleaning into the throttle body, will the plugs become dirty and require changing?

nah .. if you would like you can take them out and clean them and re-gap them if it makes you feel better :D

Get a can of sea foam and spray it into the throttle body.

i wouldnt bother with sea foam.

like mentioned above he didnt drive very long.

he most likely can just not do anything and be fine. but if it worries him then just spray some el'cheapo cleaner in the TB and change oil ..

Yeah, but he would probably still benefit from a good cleaning.

spray cleaner is cheaper and can give good results. benefits on an average car needing cleaning is pretty much the same.
