the collant bypass is a mod, another mod....another usless waste of time.....You can do it, but there are no gains at all, and if you live in a winter (colder) zone then it is not to your advantage....Longer warm up times and longer heater warm up......kind of sucks when it's -20 out and it takes half hour to warm up the car.....anyways, it basically is a "by pass" around your intake.....so that that the coolant does not pass through the intake........

OK...one of the posts on here said it could give you a gain of 8hp (?). SOunded like one of those 'too good to be true things' for a free 'mod'.

there are several several free (cheap ) mods that you can do......but nothing like spending a few buckeroos to get you going......if you want try the 'free' 0-60 mod.........Basically, on a flat stretch of road....where there is preferably nobody......turn the vehicle on, then floor the gas to 60 kilometres/hour, then come to a stop, then floor it again to 60, then stop,so then floor it again...then stop and drive away.......all this does is it resets your pcm, and configures it to drive your 'usual' habits of driving......so after you do this mod, then it feels like you have a ferrari....well, almost....

Is this for real? Sounds like you're pulling somebody's leg.

that TB bypass seems just as productive as the EGR shave if you ask me, but then again I still swear my TB spacer makes a difference.

I've done the TB bypass and the EGR shave and noticed nothing at all. But it was fun to do :D

lol yeah i would think that coolant going thru the intake manifold would be a good thing, as it would work to reduce intake temperature and therefore the mixture entering the cylinders would be more dense and therefore more can be crammed in there, and more power obtained. i would think that having a hotter intake would make less power rather than 8 more horses

Quick question, first, splain to me what the PCM is. Second, 60 kilometers is about 38 mph here in the states. Unless I looked at it wrong. Lastly, does that really work?

The PCM is your on board 'computer'....and yes it works.......the only negative about the mod is that it does not last that long........If you drove like a maniac on the roads all the time your vehicle would 'learn' how to drive and keep up with your maniac behaviour.....or the opposite way......if you drove slowly, your vehicle you program it self in sort of a granny mod.......try it and see what happens.......you don't have nothing to lose.......

And yes, just drive up to 40 miles an hour.
