I have a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo with a 3.2L and a 5 speed manual transmission.

Is the G80 locking differential a true locking differential similar to the Detroit Locker or is it just another limited slip differential with clutch plates?

The Isuzu G80 code means Limted Slip Differential.

Here is some info on the G80 option for chevy vehicles.

http://www.automotive.eaton.com/product/traction_stability/lockingdiff.html

Not sure if its the same but it wouldn't surprise me.
