Does anyone know what was the difference between a karmann edition beetle and a non karmann? i have a 70 covertable and on the side it says karmann. how much would just the frame and floor pan be worth? The difference? The Karmann badge on the side. Other than that they're the same as any other 'Vert Beetle. It was just a gimmick to try and sell more units. Although technically a different company, the were primarily building VW verts. Later they built the Karmann Ghia (so named for a design by an Italian concept car firm started by Giacinto Ghia) Karmann now makes the convertible roof components for European car makers such as Mercedes, VW and Audi.
