are toyotas the best..?stokepogue 06-22-2002, 01:15 AM I'm planning to get a used car later on this year and my brothers' 15yr long experience with cars say that toyotas are the best - engines never break down before 250,000 miles, rarely need work, etc. is he more or less right? sp:smoka: Jimbo_Jones 07-23-2002, 11:44 PM well... i have a toyota CS corona '83 model with 200117 k's on the clock and she still runs perfect... since i've had it its been reco'd once (but it didnt need it) i only did it coz i bored it and it seemed appropiate RollaCoupe 10-19-2002, 01:12 PM I agree with your bro. As long as your toyota is RWD and comes with one of THESE ENGINES you should enjoy it for a looooooong time and kick some ass on the side. 18R-G/E 2T-G/E 3T-GTE 3S-GE 3S-GTE 5M-GE 7M-GE 7M-GTE 4A-GE 4A-GZE 1G-GE 1G-GTE 1G-GZE 1JZ-GE 1JZ-GTE 2JZ-GE 2JZ-GTE 2ZZ-GE -FE type engines are not meant to perform. they are family car engines and Will never go as well as a G type even if heavily modified. These are the toyota engines that were actually designed to be sporty, the rest should be avoided if at all possible. My 4a-ge has 270,000km on the original bottom-end and It still goes to 8000+rpm every day no worries at all. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
