My father fairly recently (I believe it was late september) purchased an 05 TL without the navigation system. Its an awesome car! My mother, father, and myself all love to drive it. Its very comfortable, the sound system is excellent, the car is very responsive both in acceleration and handling...Its very desirable on all accounts. I'd definately reccomend it. I would, however, adivse against the navigation system option. Its very expensive (around 2k I believe?) and an aftermarket system can be had for much cheaper. Around the same time he purchased the car, he also purchased a Garmin StreetPilot for $600 (he deals with Garmin directly, and was able to get it at cost). This is definately the way to go, as the system is easy to use and because its not integrated into the dash, its easy to transfer it to another car if you so wish.

Good luck with whatever new car you choose!

I bought a 2005 TL with manual transmission. Watch out, there are problems with the synchro 2 to 3rd gear! Go to this website, enter your vehicle and see what you come up with. Check service bulletins etc.. For your info, the navigation option is $600 and in this site I see there are problems with that too.

I heard there were some rattles with the 05 TL, this is just from reading the small reviews at yahoo.com/autos section. I don't have a TL myself so I can't confirm this. Also note that the '06 TL has lower horsepower aswell. I hope they'll increase it again for '07..

I had a window rattle but it was repaired and is gone. I asked why the HP is changed from 270 to 258 for year 2006 TL and was told it is actually the SAME HP but the HP was reclassified. Make sense?

I also noticed that about the HP change. I've noticed that about a few more Honda/Acura new models to of thier Hp being lowered. Excluding the Accord V6 which was given a whopping 4 more hp, lol.

I love the TL....The only rattle i had was from the Heat Shield around the passenger side axle center support bearing....all i did was bend it out and it went away, other than that...its a pretty quick car, took out my resonator and pre-muffler and she screams w/ the stock exhaust on it still. The only thing i have a problem w/ is the body panels aren't lined up perfect, but the Blue Tooth works great w/ my i870, and the navigation is alot better than previous honda/acura navigations, the stereo is clean clear, the stock sub isn't bad...not too much bass, but i gotta 15" L7 to fix that problem. And the only reason the HP drop from 05 to 06 was because SAE required a little stricter rating on how HP was measured, either way, i still smoke 350z's.

Yes, the SAE has actually changed the way they measure horsepower. As a result, every car got their horsepower lowered by a few points. This is not actually an indicator that there has been a change made to the engine.
