Need assistance - unrelated to RodeoRamblin Fever 02-02-2006, 10:17 AM My 81yr old Grandad just passed away from Lymphoma at 2:30 this morning - it's been a grueling situation these last 5 days watching him suffer. It was very devastating, as he's always been a VERY healthy man, and up until 3 weeks ago, no one ever even knew, including himself, that he was literally full of cancer. It was everywhere. This is a man who served in WWII, worked the Rio Grande, worked for Martin Mareatta, and Rocky Flats, and assisted in the building of the Tell-star Satelite dish in space. He is survived by my Grandma, with whom they just recently celebrated their 59th anniversary. Grandma had one request for me, and I need some help in locating these particular songs that she's looking for. 1. Walk thru this world with me 2. Beautiful Isle of somewhere I was able to find the others that she wants played at the service; but if anyone knows who sings the two above songs it would be appreciated. Thank you! LXA 02-02-2006, 10:47 AM Ramblin - I'm sorry for your loss. I'll see what I can find for you. If you have any more words from the songs that would help. LXA 02-02-2006, 11:06 AM Here are the words for the first one, and I'll try to scare up a link for the music, too. 2nd one to follow: WALK THROUGH THIS WORLD WITH ME (Written by Kay Savage / Sandra Seamons) George Jones Walk through this world with me Go where I go Share all the dreams with me I need you so In life we search And some of us find I've looked for you A long, long time And now that I've found you New horizions I see Come take my hand and Walk through this world with me Walk through this world with me Go where I go Share all the dreams with me I've searched for you so And now that I've found you New horizions I see Come take my hand and Walk through this world with me Come take my hand and Walk through this world with me LXA 02-02-2006, 11:10 AM here's a link to the 2nd...http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/b/e/beautisl.htm Gizmo42 02-02-2006, 11:29 AM Sorry for your loss Ramblin. I will also see what I can find when I get home (slaving away at work right now :shakehead ) if someone hasnt already found the songs by then. Ramblin Fever 02-02-2006, 11:41 AM Wow, you guys are a great bunch! Thank you, I really appreciate it. LXA 02-02-2006, 11:56 AM Ramblin - I was able to download the 1st song. Be happy to send it to you email or whatever. It's a George Jones song and I got it from Limewire if you want to log on there and get it faster. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. My dad would have been 86 this year, was in WWII, etc., but went quickly with his 4th heart attack about 12 years ago. The cause? He was cranking on an old tractor...one of his great loves. It was unexpected, but relatively quick. Not the way I'd have preferred, but sometimes we don't always get what we want and I know he passed doing something he enjoyed. Lost my mom about 18 mos ago to a very long term illness. Not EVER the way she wanted to go. I know your loss was sudden and unexpected, but just from experience, quicker is better...may it please God that I go the way my father did. And just think, my dad and your grandpa are probably swaping lies about the war right now! God bless and let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. rodeo02 02-02-2006, 12:10 PM Very sorry for your loss Rambin. It looks like your Grandad lived a great life. Excellent work LXA! Joel Ramblin Fever 02-02-2006, 12:26 PM LXA - you're a great man, I can't thank you enough. Was able to log onto Limewire and get the George Jones song. You know I can remember hearing them play that song over and over, but I'd forgotten about it being one of their favorites. You know there's nothing as powerful as those older country songs; Grandpa loved George Jones, and numerous other singers, and I always loved going over there and listening to his records. I know he's got this song on an album, but the last thing Grandma needs is for us to start cycling through his stuff, so I'm glad you were able to find it. I also have the link to the Beautiful Isle; again thank you. Both songs brought back a LOT of memories as it's been quite some time since I've heard them being played. LXA 02-02-2006, 12:56 PM Ramblin - it was my pleasure to help. You've given a lot to this board and I've learned much from you and all the other regulars. A few minutes of my time was just a very small payback for what you and the rest have given. Now, just do me a favor and make sure when it's my time, you all get a big 'ol keg, celebrate life and have fun! Oh yeah, and for now, dig out all of your grandma's albums and bring back those memories! But be careful, those dang things can be worth some serious money on Ebay. LOL And thanks to you also, Joel. I appreciate the kind words. directory 02-02-2006, 06:17 PM :1: LXA, great work! marcre 02-02-2006, 07:19 PM sorry for your loss Rambin Solid work LXA. Gizmo42 02-03-2006, 12:19 AM Ramblin, Did you find an mp3 for the beautiful isle or just the midi and lyrics? There are a couple on emusic.com and they have a free trial if you want an mp3. I found a few places with it that you can buy and d/l the song pretty cheap using google, didnt find any other free ones. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
