I got my turbo!!....but.....:-(240SXSlideStar 01-31-2006, 07:42 PM So I bought a turbo off an RB25, it came with the stock elbow to, it was supposed to be in great condition, and it seems to be, except for 3 things, there's all kinds of rust where the water lines go, there are only 2 of the 6 studs that hold the elbow onto the turbo and the actuator nipple is all fucked, so I'm guessing I'll need a new actuator, unless someone knows a way around it? And if anyone says that this is a crappy turbo, i got it cause it was ball bearing. lol I admit I bought it in haste, but whatever, to late now. But if you think it's a good turbo, go ahead and say so. lol Oh and the blades look chipped on the pic, but they are just dirty, the blades are in perfect shape, there's no shaft play and it spins freely so Im guessing it's in good condition. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/240SXSlideStar/DSCN3273.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/240SXSlideStar/DSCN3272.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/240SXSlideStar/DSCN3270.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/240SXSlideStar/DSCN3269.jpg Hit_N_Run-player 01-31-2006, 07:45 PM i wouldnt ever buy a BB turbo (especially a used one), but thats just me. Weve already been over the subject though. id most likely pull and replace all the studs anyways, unless they look really good, no burs on the threads, and are really clean. 240SXSlideStar 01-31-2006, 08:16 PM Weve been over the subject? lol Hit_N_Run-player 01-31-2006, 08:47 PM oh shit, that nipple is fucked up. I thought it might have been crimped a little but DAMN! Yeah we had thread here on BB or not pretty much, i dont know if you read it or not. Id replace all those studs definetly, or take those to a wire wheel and see how they look and buy 4 more (thats only if your a completly cheap person, buying 6 new wouldnt cost too much and would be better). If you werent in Canada id probably be able to get you some studs from work, but i think it would cost more to ship than for you too actually buy some. I dont know about the water thing, i sure would be worried about that rust getting somewhere in the system, but IDK. How much did you buy the turbo for? 240SXSlideStar 01-31-2006, 09:16 PM Yeah, I'll get all new studs, and the nipple looks like that cause it was orignally at a 90 degree angle. I got it for 285$US shipped. In the pic of the turbo before he sent it, the nipple was fine, so I'm guessing it happened during shipping. Pavlo 01-31-2006, 11:02 PM Should have went with a Z31 T3, you'd already have the right flange for upgrade later, and it is bigger. T25 is too small for the KA, it was made to be a quick spooler on a 2.0L, you should have like 0 seconds lag though lol. Hit_N_Run-player 01-31-2006, 11:16 PM he has an RB25 turbo, as in from a 2.5 I6...which is not the same as the SR turbo Hit_N_Run-player 01-31-2006, 11:18 PM damn, 300$, you should have talked to me. I could have got you a rebuilt externaly wastegated turbo rebuilt for cheaper than that. I just sold a TO4B for only 250$. 240SXSlideStar 01-31-2006, 11:35 PM I wanted an internal wastegated turbo for now cause i didnt wanna spend more money on an external wastegate, besides, i like the fact that its water and oil cooled and that its ball bearing, and its not to big so maybe i wont get 400whp (im only aiming for 250 for now), but itll spool fucking fast which is wat i want. Anyways, I'll try to straighten out the nipple. R.W.240 01-31-2006, 11:35 PM HKS Acutuator. Adjustable boost anyway. Them water galleys are fucked. Good thing you dont need to use them. Other than that it just looks like its been sitting for a while. 240SXSlideStar 01-31-2006, 11:37 PM I can only find the HKS actuator for T25 or T28, would the T28 one work on my turbo? And why are the water galleys fucked? Can't I flush that shit out somehow? lol Hit_N_Run-player 01-31-2006, 11:55 PM flush it i dont think will remove rust. Can you just fill those with a substance and cap off the ends.. Skylindrftr 02-01-2006, 02:18 AM TRUST and HKS make aftermarket wastegate actuators that come preset for different levels...or you just can go source a stock one 240SXSlideStar 02-01-2006, 08:53 AM TRUST and HKS make aftermarket wastegate actuators that come preset for different levels...or you just can go source a stock one Thank you, we already covered that, what I asked was if the T28 one for the S14/S15 will work on my turbo. Skylindrftr 02-01-2006, 07:41 PM doh sorry ill read the whole post next time...i was sleepy ^^ 240SXSlideStar 02-01-2006, 08:24 PM lol, it's cool, everyone falls asleep sometimes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
